Happy New Year! 

Are you the kind of person who jumps into the new year with both feet on January 1st or are you like me, a “ease into the new year slowly” kind of person? I used to be a jumper in-er with resolutions and big ideas of how I was going to be totally different that year, it didn’t work great for me but I’m all for it if that works for you. Sometimes we really do need a big dramatic moment to begin something new. My new year practice has shifted recently to become more aligned with how change happens for me; slowly, incrementally; it comes from shifts in my underlying beliefs and small daily choices aligned with those beliefs. 

Toward the end of the year I had a chance to reflect on 2024 with all of its changes, growth and failures. This week I plan to spend some time dreaming about what’s possible and what I might like to easefully shift in 2025. 

How are you moving into the new year? 

I’d like to share a very quick recap of 2024 and read on for a glimpse of what 2025 might hold.

  •  I finally left my job in engineering in order to fully step into building Danica Lefever Coaching.

  • My mom passed away in November, which was a big moment of transition despite her long struggle with Alzheimer's. 

  • I continued to practice letting go (mostly) of parenting from a place of anxiety and gosh do I love the amazing humans my kids are becoming.

  • I took some baby and some giant steps toward healing old narratives and aligning my outward life with who I believe I was created to be with my neurospicy brain.  

In November and December I consciously slowed down to give myself the time and space to grieve my mom and decompress from my old working life. Slowing down is very hard for me and it took so much practice to allow silence and stillness to fill my days instead of productivity. 

I am deeply grateful for each of you whose journey intersected mine this year and I hope that our paths cross or run beside each other for a time this coming year. Check out a little of what I’m excited about in 2025. Might one of these be a time when we can journey together for a bit? 

In 2025: 

  • I’m starting off the year by offering a free book club. I read a LOT of ADHD books and one of the most transformational of last year was “A Radical Guide for Women with ADHD: Embrace Neurodiversity, Live Boldly, and Break Through Barriers” By Sari Solden and Michelle Frank. In typical fashion I sped through this one and only briefly paused to reflect on the end of chapter questions. Many ADHD books offer strategies for managing the challenges that come with the territory. This one was transformational, despite that quick reading, because it offered a different take on what it means to embrace a different kind of brain and why it is so important to ask for the support you need to free up capacity and thrive. 

I would love for up to 6 women to join me in a closer read with time to reflect on the questions individually and together. Interested?

  • My website is out in the world but kind of rough. You can check it out at www.danicalefever.com (don’t judge, :-) but I’m totally open to feedback) I’m looking forward to thinking through with a little more intentionality the public, physical and digital, presence for Danica Lefever Coaching.

  • Most of all I am so excited to grow my 1:1 coaching practice. Every hour in which a client trusts me to co-create a space where they can explore what is possible and what might be wanting to change for them is an absolute honor.
